A family is yearning for answers after a beloved relative was killed in a drive-by shooting in Overtown.
Thirty-one-year-old Anthony Hill was riding his bicycle in the area of NW 2nd Ave. and NW 13th Street when someone fired several shots at him from their vehicle, police said. Hill died later in the hospital from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Miami Police Department.
Now, Hill’s family is asking the public for help in finding his killer.
“Just come forward so I can be able to rest,” said Phyllis Hill, Anthony’s mother.
Phyllis Hill, along with Anthony Hill’s eight-year-old son and other family members, gathered at the Miami Police Department Tuesday to ask for the community’s help in identifying the suspect. Hill was a construction worker and is described as a family man.
“He’s a father, an uncle, he’s a brother, he’s a nephew and he just enjoys life,” another family member said. “He was happy and outgoing and he just loved life.”
Detectives believe Hill was targeted during the Aug. 3rd shooting.

“There was a black vehicle that rolled up on him and began shooting at him,” said Det. Amado Ventura with the City of Miami Police Department. “I know that there are no witnesses based on this investigation. We just need people to come forward.”
Anyone who provides detectives with information that leads to an arrest is eligible for a reward. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
Hill’s grieving family says they still have hope of finding the person or persons responsible for his murder.
“We haven’t received justice and that’s the main thing our family wants.”
