The family of a South Florida woman are asking for help and answers after she hasn’t returned from a vacation in Costa Rica.

Carla Stefaniak, 36, was scheduled to arrive home Wednesday but has not been heard from since Tuesday night.

Her brother, Mario Caidedo, told NBC 6 sister station Telemundo 51 from his Orlando home that she was in the country on vacation and that police and the U.S. embassy have been contacted.

Stefaniak is a Venezuelan native and U.S. citizen whose social media accounts say she lives in Miami Beach. Her last Instagram post was from Monday showing her in the country.

Family members are heading to Costa Rica to help search for Stefaniak. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family in the efforts.

Just one month ago, four men from Miami who were in Costa Rica for a bachelor party died in a rafting accident.
