Fast Food Employee Jumps Out Window to Escape Robbers

A fast thinking fast food worker gave armed thugs a run for their money

A fast thinking fast food worker gave two robbers a run for their money when they showed up to loot a Miami restaurant early Wednesday.

The armed robbery happened at the Checkers on Northwest 42nd Avenue near LeJeune Road just before 1:30 a.m., when one of the robbers jumped through the drive-through window and demanded cash. The employees were unable to open the safe.

As most workers sat scared for their lives, one employee waited until one robber turned his back, then he jumped out of the window and called police.

“We were working and the guy came to the window. He pulled a gun at us and he said he wanted the money, to give him the money and open everything and just give him the money," said employee Yudermas Delmro. "It’s something we never thought would happen to us."

The robbers somehow made off with a small amount of cash. No one was shot or injured. The robbers remain on the loose.
