Police were responding to the scene of a fatal crash that blocked a major Miami-Dade intersection for several hours Wednesday morning.
The intersection of Le Jeune Rd. and NW 36th Street was closed after a car that was traveling eastbound on Northwest 36th Street lost control and hit a light pole in the median at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The driver, a 20-year-old man, was killed at the scene, police say.
A passenger in the vehicle was transported to Ryder Trauma and is listed in stable but guarded condition.
The busy intersection was blocked off for several hours Wednesday morning as police investigated the crash. The lanes have since been reopened.
