Father Oprah Now a Real Father

Wife of former Catholic priest gives birth to couple's first child

Former Catholic priest Alberto Cutié has another reason to call himself father, after he became a proud papa this week.

Camila Victoria Cutié, daughter of Alberto and Ruhama Buni Cutié, was born Tuesday, according to the Miami Herald.

"We...take this opportunity to thank our family, church community and friends for your love and support," Alberto Cutié wrote on his website Thursday. "There is great joy in being a Father, who is also a `father.' We are truly blessed!"

It's the first child for the 41-year-old Miami priest who was once known as "Father Oprah," before his affair with Ruhama Cutié got him kicked out of the Catholic Church in 2009.

Cutié was the head of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Miami Beach when a photographer caught he and Ruhama canoodling on the beach and a Spanish-language tabloid published the pics.

After flipping to the Episcopalian faith and joining the Church of the Resurrection in Biscayne Park, Cutié married Ruhama in June 2009.

Cutie's numerous television and radio appearances earned him the "Father Oprah" nickname. His book, Dilemma: A Priest's Struggle with Faith and Love, is due out in January.
