In the two years since Dontrell Melvin's remains were dug up from the backyard of his parents' former home, no one has been prosecuted for his murder.
Now Hallandale Police want his father, Calvin Melvin, charged with manslaughter.
They say four years of detective work in 25 pages of police reports reveal how Melvin and the boy's mother, Brittney Sierra allegedly tried to pin their son's death on each other.
The police reports, which are now in the hands of the State Attorney's Office allege Melvin first lied about where Dontrell was in January of 2013, but then drew a diagram of the backyard to show Where Dontrell Was buried.
Brittney Sierra blamed Melvin when she was interrogated by police.
"I feel he just killed my son or just put him somewhere nobody knows," she said at the time.
Now Police want to charge her with accessory after the fact - claiming she knew the child was dead.

Sierra reportedly told police "Calvin might have used a pillow to kill Dontrell," saying he quote "could have suffocated the baby."
Both parents were charged with child neglect at the time because no one called for help.
Melvin reportedly told a friend over the phone while in jail, "It's her child, it's our child. If she didn't want to call the ambulance... I don't think nobody should have to."
NBC 6 spoke to the State Attorney's Office Tuesday we are told no formal charges have been filed, but the case is under review.
The couple has a history of domestic violence: 7 documented domestic violence incidents between 2010-2013. But the cases were never tried because Sierra did not cooperate with officials.
