Father, Son Accused of Violent Miami Beach Armed Home Invasion

A third suspect is being sought by police

A father and son, along with a third suspect, allegedly assaulted a Miami Beach resident in an armed home invasion in which they also attempted to strangle the victim with a belt, according to police.

The home invasion occurred on Oct. 24 at about 7:30 p.m. at a residence on the 900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Surveillance video of the incident shows the victim entering his home with someone. Soon after, the victim opens the door to let that person out.

That person was one of the suspects. As the victim let the person out, two men rushed toward the front door to assault the resident while brandishing a firearm, police said.

"Inside, the victim is beaten, they attempt to handcuff him, when unsuccessful, they wrap a leather belt around his neck in an attempt to strangle him," police said in a statement. "The armed robbers take off with a safe containing $2,000 as well as prescription medication."

The Miami Beach Police Department identified two suspects as Eduardo Perez, 43, and Edward Perez, 19. A third suspect is being sought – described as a Hispanic male who is between 40 years to 50 years old who weighs about 200 pounds and is about 6 feet tall.
