Father and Son Shot as they Drove on I-95 in Miami

The Florida Highway Patrol says someone shot a man and his son as they drove on Interstate 95 in Miami.

The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon as they headed north in their older model Mercedes.

Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez says the man had a bullet lodged in his arm. The son suffered serious road rash when he jumped from the vehicle to dodge bullets.

The Miami Herald reports investigators interviewed the victims, whose names weren't released. They don't yet have a motive in the shooting.

He says there were lots of cars on the road at the time so someone ``had to see something.'' The only description troopers had Tuesday night was a dark-colored vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
