Faulty Car Helps Police Arrest Suspect

A Florida Panhandle man faces multiple charges after trying to flee police in a car that broke down.

Panama City police say officers saw 36-year-old Nathan Alexander Combs leaving a hotel on Sunday and knew that he had several active warrants. They tried to pull him over, but he turned and jumped a curb before accelerated to get away. The vehicle stalled in an open field.

The News Herald of Panama City reports Combs was arrested. During a search of the vehicle, officers found 18 Oxycodone pills, 1.9 grams of methamphetamine and 1.5 grams of marijuana.

Combs faces charges of fleeing and eluding police in addition to drug charges and driving with a suspended driver's license.

It's not known whether Combs has hired an attorney.
