First Swine Flu Case Confirmed in Keys

Pre-teen girl taken to hospital with swine flu virus

The Swine Flu has claimed its first victim in Miami and now it's spreading down to the Keys.

A girl between the ages of eight and 12 is the first confirmed Keys Swine Flu case.

The girl was taken to a Marathon hospital last week with flu-like symptoms. She was already out of school for summer vacation, and none of her family members has shown any symptoms, according to Health Administrator Bob Eadie.

Florida has over 415 confirmed cases of swine flu, State health officials said. A nine-year-old boy who died last week was the first Miami victim of the flu.
