11-Year-Old Boy Killed, Four Hospitalized After Morning Crash Causes Traffic Delays on I-95 Express Lanes

An 11-year-old boy was killed and several others were hospitalized after a crash in the northbound express lanes of I-95 Monday morning.

The crash slowed traffic on the busy roadway just as motorists were starting their commute.

The incident took place in the northbound lanes, near Northwest 135th Street. All express lanes were blocked and multiple fire and emergency crews responded to the scene.

Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said five people were in a Nissan Altima when it collided with a Mack truck and was hit by another truck.

One person died and the other four were hospitalized in critical condition. 

The boy who was killed was later identified as 11-year-old Jean Ali Joshua Lindor, according to the FHP. A 9-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were also injured.

The truck drivers weren't injured. An investigation is underway.
