A Florida man will serve 90 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to producing child pornography, some of it involving a 3-year-old autistic child.
Tampa U.S. District Judge Susan C. Bucklew imposed the sentence last week on 28-year-old Steven Edward Speer of Clearwater. Speer pleaded guilty in June to five counts of producing child pornography.
Court documents show that investigators acting on a November 2013 search warrant found six videos and more than 1,900 images of child pornography on a computer and phone at Speer's home. Speer admitted in his guilty plea that he depicted himself in many of the images and videos that included the autistic child.
In addition, Speer acknowledged distributing the images and videos over the Internet and getting access to similar material from others.
