Florida City Official Accused of Living in Dead Woman's Home

Authorities say a central Florida city commissioner illegally moved into a dead woman's home.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says in a news release that Kissimmee City Commissioner Sara Shaw was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand theft and fraudulently using a dead person's identification number.

Her boyfriend, Peter Sendtko, faces charges of dealing in stolen property.

The news release says the couple moved into the home without permission two years ago. The woman had died in 2011.

The FDLE says the couple tried to gain possession of the property by paying property taxes.

Agents say utilities at the house were paid by automatic withdrawals from the dead woman's bank account.

Court records showed Shaw was still in jail Tuesday afternoon and couldn't be reached for comment.
