Handyman Accused of Sexually Assaulting Sunny Isles Woman While She Babysat Grandchild

The handyman allegedly pulled a steak knife and threatened to stab her if she did not "give it" to him.

A Hallandale Beach handyman has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a grandmother who was babysitting her toddler grandson on Friday.

According to an arrest report, 68-year-old Hoover Hundewadt was scheduled to fix some issues in the bathroom of a Sunny Isles apartment that the grandmother and her one-year-old grandchild were in.

Police say, while the handyman was working, the grandmother and him had a conversation that ended with Hundewadt forcefully kissing her.

The grandmother was able to pull away and told Hundewadt 'no'. That's when the handyman allegedly pulled a steak knife and threatened to stab her if she did not "give it" to him.

Hundewadt proceeded to assault the victim and rape her, according to the report.

When the victim's daughter came home, the two went to police and reported the incident.

According to police, the victim said the handyman was personally known since he has done maintenance at the apartment before.

She identified Hundewadt, who told police the sex was consensual.

Hundewadt is now facing three seperate counts of sexual battery, kidnapping with a weapon, and battery on a person 65 or older.
