A group of Florida Highway Patrol troopers saved the day along one of the busiest roads in the state – rescuing an injured pelican that was stranded along the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Troopers and members of the Road Rangers arrived and were able to get the pelican against the concrete wall before taking it into custody – well, rescuing it – and transporting the animal to a nearby bird sanctuary for further care from wildlife officials.
