A Florida man is facing charges after police say he used a pair of scissors to cut off his wife's lover's penis weeks after he caught them having sex.

Alex Bonilla, 49, was arrested Sunday on multiple charges including aggravated assault, aggravated battery, burglary, false imprisonment and cruelty toward a child, according to the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office.

According to NBC-2, the victim told his neighbor that Bonilla broke into his home armed with a gun and threatened to kill him. He said Bonilla tied him up and used scissors to cut off his penis, then left the home with the penis, the report said.

The victim's two children were in the home at the time of the incident, the report said. The victim was taken to a local hospital and was expected to be okay, the report said.

Authorities said Bonilla caught the victim and Bonilla's wife having sex a couple of weeks earlier.

Bonilla, who lives in Bell, was being held on $1.25 million bond Tuesday, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
