Florida Man Dies After Water From Fire Hydrant Pulls Him Into Hole

A freak occurrence in Viera, Florida left a man dead on Wednesday, after he got out of his vehicle to presumably inspect for damage after hitting a fire hydrant.

The crash, which authorities say was relatively minor, caused the ground to give way near the hydrant, spewing water and creating a hole next to the man's car.

"The water pressure was so strong that it sucked him in and pulled him into the hole," said witness Pedro Rodriquez.

The victim, Robert Dreyer, died on his 89th birthday.
