Florida Man Fishes Out WW2 Hand Grenade, Goes to Taco Bell

The Ocala Police Department said a man who was magnet fishing found a Second World War-era hand grenade and then went to Taco Bell.

The central Florida Taco Bell on East Silver Springs Blvd. was evacuated on Saturday after the man told police dispatchers he found the grenade and that it was inside the trunk of his vehicle parked at the fast-food restaurant.

"MCSO Bomb Squad has responded to ensure everyone’s safety," the Ocala Police Department said in a statement. "This has been verified as an authentic WWII hand grenade. The bomb squad removed the grenade without incident and advised it would be disposed of properly."

The Taco Bell reopened later on Saturday.
