A man has died after authorities say he tried to stop a robber who stole a woman's purse in Jacksonville.
Police said a man and woman were sitting at a bus stop Saturday when a suspect walked up to them and demanded the woman's purse.

The Florida Times-Union reports the victim confronted the robber and was shot at least once before the gunman fled with the woman's purse.
The victim died at the scene. He has not been identified.
The woman was not harmed.
