It's a good thing Bill McCollum is running for Governor of Florida, because the Attorney General apparently has a lot of free time on his hands.
McCollum has had a leisurely summer so far in 2009, averaging just 22 hours of work a week in the last two months, according to an editorial published yesterday in the Palm Beach Post.
The top law man in the state is logging 17 hours a week in "personal time," despite his hefty $131,000 salary.
And the Republican McCollum has a counterpart on the Dem side.
Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, also running for governor, has been working just 33 hours per week.
Spokesmen for both said that of course their jobs are their number one priority, they work 24/7, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Luckily, if either should win the Governor's race, they won't have big shoes to fill. Current gov Charlie Crist hasn't exactly been adverse to punching out early.
