Former Key West Police Officer Arrested for Molesting a Minor: FDLE

Henry Arroyo, 41, is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a minor.

A former Key West Police officer has been arrested for lewd and lascivious molestation on a minor, officials said.

Henry Arroyo, 41, turned himself in at 10 a.m. Monday on charges of lewd and lascivious molestation by a person over 18 on a person under 12 and lewd or lascivious exhibition, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

In a heavily redacted arrest warrant, investigators said Arroyo made the female victim touch his genitals and that he also touched her breasts or the clothing covering them in a lewd and lascivious manner. He also exposed himself to her intentionally, officials said.

The FDLE started investigating Arroyo last December after the victim reported the alleged abuse. Investigators said the abuse started when the victim was 10 and lasted until the victim was 13, since March 2010.

Arroyo, a KWPD resource officer at Key West High School, resigned from the department last month after being placed on paid leave on Dec. 17th, according to KeysInfo.Net.

Arroyo was being held at the Monroe County jail on $100,000 bond. It is not clear if Arroyo has an attorney.
