Former Miami Cop Busted for Sexual Battery

Retired K-9 officer arrested by U.S. Marshals in Pembroke Pines

A former City of Miami police officer who had recently retired was arrested Thursday for sexual battery on a custodial family member under the age of 18.

Timothy V. Young, 53, was arrested by U.S. Marshals and task force officers without incident as he arrived at his Pembroke Pines home.

An abundance of caution was used in the arrest of Young, since he was believed to have a firearm, the U.S. Marshals said. Authorities found a loaded gun in his car after he was placed under arrest.

Young spent 18 years with the Miami Police, where he was a K-9 officer. The sexual battery incidents he's charged with are alleged to have occurred between 2004 and 2006.

Young was taken to the Pembroke Pines Police Department for processing and as of early Friday morning, he was being held on $30,000 bond at the Broward jail.
