U.S. Marshals arrested 55-year-old Owen Headley at his home in Delray Beach on a warrant out of Canada for charges that included sexual assault, incest and exploitation of minors according to NBC station WPTV.
The Department of Justice coordinated the arrest, in which marshals entered the home after Headley allegedly refused to turn himself in and hid inside the home.
Headley, who is expected in federal court on Wednesday for an extradition hearing, was a fifth grade teacher at Hammock Point Elementary School in Boca Raton – though officials from the Palm Beach County School District said he had not taught at the school last year or at the start of this year.
