Former Tennis Star Jennifer Capriati Gets Deal in Battery, Stalking Case

The case was dropped Monday morning.

Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati won't have to face battery and stalking charges stemming from a 2013 confrontation with an ex-boyfriend.

A spokesman for the Palm Beach County state attorney's office said Monday that Capriati completed 30 hours of community service at a Tampa hospital and four hours of anger management counseling under a deferred prosecution agreement. The case was dropped Monday morning.

Capriati had been accused of punching former boyfriend Ivan Brannan at a gym last Valentine's Day and of stalking him for months before that.

The 37-year-old Capriati is an International Tennis Hall of Fame member who began her professional career at age 13. She was a gold medalist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and also won the French and Australian opens.
