Former Vice President Joe Biden, considered by many to be the front runner for the Democratic nomination from President in 2020, made a campaign stop in the heart of Calle Ocho.
"We need to restore the soul of America, we have been here before," Biden told the crowd of supporters outside the Ball and Chain club in Little Havana.
Biden said the middle class is the backbone of America and then went on to discuss the need for temporary protected status for Venezuelans.
"It's not an argument, we should just do it,” Biden said. “We've done it before, that's who we are."
Biden also talked about his personal experience dealing with Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro, a notorious name for many in South Florida.
“The fact of the matter is I told him we would talk with him if he did the following things, starting with setting up elections, making sure he released political prisoners, a whole range of things,” Biden said. “That kind of ended our conversation."
