Fort Lauderdale Officer Taken to Hospital After Chase, Crash in Pompano Beach

According to police, the officer is being transported to North Broward Hospital.

A Fort Lauderdale police officer has been transported to the hospital after a chase ended in a crash in Pompano Beach Wednesday morning, according to Fort Lauderdale police.

The incident began when a black Jaguar, that was involved in a possible carjacking, was spotted by officers going north on I-95. 

The vehicle exited on Atlantice Boulevard in Pompano Beach, and a Fort Lauderdale officer, who was pursuing the vehicle, then crashed into the Jaguar at the 3000 block of Northwest 6th Street, police say. 

The officer has been transported to North Broward Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fort lauderdale police say two suspects who were in the Jaguar were taken into custody.
