Fort Lauderdale City Commissioners Vote to Allow Alcohol Sales Before Noon on Sundays

Residents of Fort Lauderdale who want to buy alcohol on Sunday mornings are now getting their wish.

City commissioners on Wednesday approved a new law allow alcohol sales at stores in the city starting at 7 AM, the same time as every other day, and going until midnight. Previously, stores were not able to sell any alcohol until 12 PM on Sundays.

Other surrounding cities already had lowered the time when alcohol could be purchased in previous years. In 2011, Fort Lauderdale allowed liquor to be served at restaurants and hotels, but kept the ban in place for stores.
