Fort Lauderdale Fires Longtime City Manager

The city of Fort Lauderdale has fired its longtime city manager.

In a 3-2 vote, Mayor Dean Trantalis and commissioners Steve Glassman and Ben Sorensen voted to oust Lee Feldman, who has held the job for more than seven years.

Feldman faced criticism from residents worried about the impact of the city's building boom, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

He was also accused of not taking a more proactive approach to deal with the city's aging water and sewer lines.

Feldman will remain in the position until the end of the year.

There is no word on who will replace him.
