Free Art Basel Events & Parties This Weekend

NBC 6 has your guide to seeing Art Basel events and local parties for free.

The art scene has invaded Miami this week and this weekend has a slew of parties for you to attend. We put together a list of free events for you!

Friday, Dec. 6

Social Animals, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Over 30 large sculptures created by emerging artists will transform Collins Park in Miami Beach into an outdoor exhibition space. Collins Park is located at 2100 Collins Ave.

An Elergy for Voice and Silence, 8-9 p.m.
Art Basel Film “An Elegy for Voice and Silence” will be free to the public and shown at Soundscape Park, 500 17th Street, Miami Beach from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Farewell to the Past: Yinka Shonibare MBE, 9-10 p.m.
Watch an evening film from Yinka Shonibare at SoundScape Park on the projection wall of the New World Center.

Prelude to a Syncopation, 10-11 p.m.
Artists will connect sound, choreography and social media for an evening film that will be shown on the projection wall at SoundScape Park at the New World Center.

Peachfuzz hosted by Uncle Luke at Grand Central, 11 p.m.
Party with former "2 Live Crew" member, Uncle Luke and special guests at The Garret at Grand Central. Entrance is on Northeast 7th Street. Ages 21+

Youth Code, 9 p.m.
The electronic duo will perform at "Gramps" located at 176 NW 24th St. in Miami. To attend, RSVP to rsvp@grampsbar.com

Saturday, Dec. 7

Q&A Session: The Artist and the Gallerist, 10-11:30 a.m.
A one-hour panel discussion followed by a 30-minute Q&A session will take place at Hall C at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The panel will consist of artists Abraham Cruzvillegas, Monica Manzutto, Jose Kuri and Moderator Mark Rappolt.

Look Alive Fest, 8 p.m.

Fantasia for Dissonant Harmonies, 10-11 p.m.
Watch an evening film that will show the important relationship between the visual and the audio. The free film will be shown on the projection wall at SoundScape Park at the New World Center.

Nadawave at Sandbar, 10 p.m.
Listen to the sounds of EDM from Nguzunguzu at Sandbar located at 6752 Collins Ave. in Miami Beach.

Sunday, Dec. 8

Q&A Session: The Artist as Technologist, 10-11:30 a.m.
A one-hour panel discussion followed by a 30-minute Q&A session will take place at Hall C at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The panel will consist of artists Cory Arcangel, Cecile B. Evans, Camille Henrot, Robert Whitman and Moderator Hans Ulrich Obrist.

Day Off Miami with Trick Daddy in Wynwood
A free concert by Trick Daddy and other artists will take place at Mana Wynwood Production Village located at 318 NW 23rd St. To attend you must be 18 years or older and RSVP here.
