Funeral, Military Burial for Stoneman Athletic Director Chris Hixon

Family members and friends said their final goodbyes Wednesday to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School athletic director Chris Hixon, who was killed in last week's mass shooting.

Hixon, 49, who also served as the school's wrestling coach, died shielding students from bullets. His funeral was held at Nativity Catholic Church in Hollywood.

The Desert Storm veteran received a full military burial at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.

Another school employee who died a hero in the shooting, assistant football coach Aaron Feis, will be remembered at a funeral Thursday at Church by the Glades in Coral Springs.

Meanwhile, religious leaders and officials held a vigil outside Pembroke Pines City Hall Wednesday to honor the victims.

"I want to show that this city is supportive of another city's problem and this hit so close to home," Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank Ortis said.
