Funeral Held for Slain Pines Woman

Family and friends to say final goodbye to Natalie Belmonte

Friends and family said a final farewell Monday to Natalie Belmonte, the Pembroke Pines realtor found dead near her home last week.

The funeral for Belmonte took place at the Blessed John XXIII Catholic Church in Miramar, with hundreds in attendance.

On Sunday, a memorial service was held at the Boyd Funeral Home in Pembroke Pines for the 43-year-old, where friends remembered her as a beautiful person inside and out.

Belmonte disappeared last Sunday, and three days later her body was discovered in a wooded area not far from her home.

Her adopted son, 21-year-old Gerard Lopes, was arrested and charged with her murder. Police say a surveillance camera caught a man who resembles Lopes loading what appeared to be Belmonte's body into a car.

Lopes is being held without bond.
