Georgia Mom Arrested in Florida, 3 Kids Found Safe, 1 Dead After Amber Alert

A Georgia mother who went missing was arrested in north Florida after an Amber Alert was issued and the body of a 2-year-old girl was found at her home.

Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say 28-year-old Clarion Garrison was arrested Wednesday night.

Garrison -- along with three of her children, ages 7, 6 and 4 -- was traveling to Ocala where she has relatives. An Amber Alert was issued, and authorities in Georgia reported that the children were in "extreme danger."

Deputies found Garrison's car in the area where her family lives. They made contact with her relatives and the children, but Garrison was nowhere to be seen. Eventually, Garrison showed up and turned herself in.

The Amber Alert was canceled. The Florida Department of Children and Families took custody of the three children, deputies say. The children were reported to be safe and unharmed.

Dougherty County District Attorney Greg Edwards says that a 2-year-old girl was found dead at Garrison's Albany home, and had been dead for at least two days before the body was found.

Investigators say the 2-year-old was Garrison's daughter.

It's unclear if Garrison has an attorney.

An investigation is ongoing.
