High-profile attorney Gloria Allred confirmed with NBC 6 that she is representing the girlfriend of the MacArthur Causeway face-eating attacker.
“Yes, I represent her. We have no other comment,” Allred wrote in an email to NBC 6.
Though her client’s name has not been disclosed, Allred confirmed her client identifies herself as the girlfriend of Rudy Eugene, the man shot and killed by police after he refused to stop mauling a homeless man’s face.
It is not known why Allred is representing the girlfriend.
Allred is known for her headline hitting legal battles and most recently garnered the spotlight after she filed a sex battery suit against John Travolta on behalf of two men. She has also represented Nicole Brown Simpson's family in the O.J. trial and Rachel Uchitel, Tiger Wood’s alleged mistress.
The man-eating attack clinched national attention after Eugene brutally attacked 65-year-old Ronald Poppo, mauling off more than 80 percent of his face.
Police released several 911 calls Friday that reveal what passers-by witnessed as they came across the scene.
“Listen, there is a naked man on the MacArthur Causeway at the end of the causeway coming towards Biscayne Boulevard. He is beating another man to a pulp – like on top of the man, beating him, the man is bleeding,” said one bus driver who passed by the attack.
“He’s beating another man. It’s a naked man beating another man,” the driver said.
Another 911 caller tells the dispatcher, "He was taking his clothes off and throwing them into traffic."

Surveillance video taken from the Miami Herald building shows the nearly 20-minute attack in which Eugene appears to struggle with Poppo, throwing him on to the sidewalk as cars and bicyclists speed past.
An officer is then seen approaching the two men, drawing his firearm and walking under the tracks and out of view from the camera.
Authorities said the officer opened fire after Eugene refused to stop his savage attack on Poppo.
Officials said Eugene “growled like a wild animal” and continued his attack, forcing the officer to shoot him dead.
Poppo remains at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition. In light of the incident, several graphic photos of Poppo’s face have leaked on the Internet, sparking an investigation at the hospital.
"Jackson is conducting an investigation to determine whether or not patient privacy was violated," spokesman Edwin O'Dell of the Jackson Health System said Friday in an email.
