Every prison has a pusher, but at Everglades Correctional Institution, guard Shamel Watson figured he might as well provide prisoners with the goods.
Watson might have pulled it off too, if the guy he had met up with to complete the transaction of cash for drugs hadn't been an undercover deputy.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office charged Watson with trying to smuggle cocaine and marijuana into the Miami-Dade facility, as well as receiving a bribe.
The 30-year-old guard was busted Wednesday in the undercover sting. Watson had arranged to buy the drugs, about $1,000 worth, with the undercover cop earlier in the month.
Now Watson will bring his drug-dealing skills, or lack thereof, to prison, this time as an inmate.
