Guardrail Pierces Black Scion in Crash on State Road 836

A guardrail went through a black Scion in a crash on State Road 836 Monday, but there were no injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The single-vehicle accident occurred on State Road 836 westbound near the Northwest 87th Avenue exit, FHP Trooper Dallani Garcia-Cruz said.

Aerial footage showed a man being taken into custody at the scene. Garcia-Cruz said the driver is a habitual traffic offender, meaning that he has a court order that he is not supposed to be driving for five years.

Alberto Leon, 36, was being held on $5,000 bond on a charge of driving with a license suspended as a habitual traffic offender Monday night, online jail records showed.
