Gulliver Schools Coach Fired for Allegedly Sending Sexually Explicit Video to Team

The varsity head baseball coach with a Miami private school has been fired following an internal investigation into an inappropriate and sexually explicit video he allegedly sent to his players during the 2015 season, according to school officials.

It was announced on Thursday that Javier Rodriguez is no longer employed with Gulliver Schools.

After confirming the accusations, Gulliver Schools said it immediately terminated his employment. It was not clear what sexually explicit content was in the video.

Frank Steel, Head of Schools at Gulliver Schools, released a statement saying in part: "We are communicating directly with any individuals impacted by these events. We also would like to reassure our students, parents, faculty and staff that the well-being of all members of our school community is our top priority and we remain committed to continuing to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment."

Steel said this incident has been handed over to law enforcement, and they are cooperating with investigators.

It is unclear whether Rodriguez will face any criminal charges for his alleged actions but Pinecrest Police are investigating the incident.

Rodriguez is a former University of Miami baseball player, and was a fifth-round draft pick for the Anaheim Angels in 2002.

Gulliver Schools has numerous campuses across Miami-Dade.

Police are asking anyone who may have received an inappropriate communication in the past to call them at 305-234-2100.
