18-Year-Old Attempted to Confront Hialeah Student With Gun: Police

An 18-year-old man is in jail after allegedly attempting to confront a Hialeah High School student with a gun.

David Fabars, of Hialeah, was arrested Friday and appeared in bond court Saturday after telling a confidential informant at a Wendy's restaurant nearby the high school that he was going to confront a person with a gun, according to an arrest report.

The informant then provided police with information about Fabars, including a description of his face tattoo and his Instagram handle, police said.

Detectives found Fabars inside a parked car at the Wendy's, where they found a semi-automatic rifle inside of his backpack.

Fabars remains in jail on $10,000 bond. He was ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor and to stay away from Hialeah High School, police said.
