Hallandale Beach Police Looking for Family Dollar Store Armed Robbers

Hallandale Beach Police are looking for two men suspected of armed robbery at a Family Dollar Store.

Police said the unidentified men took $290 from the store at 680 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd. around 6:47 p.m. on May 11.

One of the men was caught on surveillance camera striking a victim on the head with a large caliber silver revolver and pointing it at his head during the robbery, police said. The other suspects was armed with a black semi-automatic firearm, according to police.

"I don't know, for me, it don't make no sense," said customer Michel Forte, "but people, they will kill you for a penny."

Customer Karina Dayton said she couldn't believe what she saw on the surveillance video. She said her family are regulars at the store and can't imagine being inside when the robbery happened.

"If the gun would've went off, then what," Karina asked. "I know them, I know all of them. I'm just glad they didn't get hurt."

The first suspect was described as wearing a black knit ski mask, jean shorts, black and white high top sneakers, and a Netherlands soccer jersey. The other was wearing a black neck scarf to cover half his face, jean shorts, a black long sleeve shirt and a possible Miami Heat hat.

Anyone with information on the suspects is urged to call Det. Dubuisson or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477). Tips that lead to an arrest will be rewarded.
