Halloween Treat at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital: Superheroes Outside Kids' Windows

Patients at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital were in for a real treat Thursday afternoon when superheroes showed up at their windows.

Window washers from Clearview Building Services morphed into characters like Batman, Spiderman, and Superman to put a Halloween smile on the children's faces in Hollywood.

"If we got a bunch of happy kids that are having fun, we are happy," said Timothy Downer, a window cleaning technician.

The men dressed as superheroes rappelled down the four-story building and posed for pictures with patients and community members.

"We try to create an environment where it is as normal as possible for the ones who are here with us and cannot participate in celebrations like Halloween," said Chantal Leconte, the CEO and administrator of Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

The superheroes were just a small part of a fun-filled day. The hospital also hosted a community open house that featured trick or treating, arts and crafts, and a bounce house.
