Heat Recall Richardson and Stokes from D-League

The Heat recalled Josh Richardson and Jarnell Stokes from Sioux Falls on Sunday

The Miami Heat added depth to their bench on Sunday when they recalled Josh Richardson and Jarnell Stokes from the NBA Development League.

Both players had been playing with Miami's affiliate in the D-League, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. While with Sioux Falls, both players have seen plenty of playing time and have posted successful numbers.

In his two games with the Skyforce, Richardson had averages of 23 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks. The guard played an average of 39 minutes a game and shot nearly 45% from the field. At only 22-years old, Richardson is possibly a part of Miami's future and his time in the D-League is invaluable.

In 11 games with Sioux Falls, Stokes has averaged 19.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 29 minutes. The forward has nailed 67% of his attempts and had four double-doubles in the D-League.

This season with Miami, Richardson has appeared in 13 games and has played very infrequently. His time has mostly come in garbage time or when another player found himself in foul trouble. During his brief time, Richardson has flashed some positive signs and has plenty of untapped potential.

Stokes who was acquired by Miami earlier this season has yet to appear in a Heat jersey. While with the Memphis Grizzlies, Stokes appeared in two games for a total of four minutes. Like Richardson, the guard is also young and a part of Miami's future at 21.

Both Richardson and Stokes will be available off the bench for Miami when the team faces the Washington Wizards on Sunday evening.
