Heat Top Wizards in Rare Win at Home

The Heat won only their third home game of the year with their 112-101 victory on Monday

The Miami Heat picked up a rare victory at home on Monday with their 112-101 win over the Washington Wizards.

The Heat are now 3-8 at American Airlines Arena and 8-17 overall on the season. This victory also snapped a five-game skid for the Heat, with the majority of those coming on the road. Miami has been hammered by injuries as of late and has kept up a busy schedule.

Goran Dragic poured in 34 points to lead Miami to the much-needed win. Dragic also added five assists and five rebounds in one of the games of his career with the Heat. The guard also had a steal and made 13 of the 21 field goal attempts he took.

Hassan Whiteside wasn't the leading scorer for Miami, but he did pick up another double-double. Whiteside had 17 points, 15 rebounds, one steal and a pair of blocks to help the Heat win.

As has been the case in several of their wins, the Heat received solid production from the reserves on the bench. James Johnson, Tyler Johnson and Josh Richardson combined for 35 points. All three players gave Miami nearly 30 minutes of action as well.

The homestand will continue on Wednesday when the Heat host the Indiana Pacers at 7:00 p.m.
