Chris Bosh won two titles during his time with the Heat.

The Miami Heat will retire Chris Bosh's jersey during a halftime ceremony on March 26th at American Airlines Arena.

Bosh will be the fourth Heat player to have his jersey hang from the rafters. Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway and Shaquille O’Neal were honored in the past by Miami. Like O'Neal and Mourning, Bosh had a hand in some title history for the Heat. Bosh was a member of Miami's 2012 and 2013 championship teams.

“I am proud that Chris will have his No. 1 jersey retired and be honored inside the American Airlines Arena with this recognition for the greatness as a player on the court and his tremendous contributions to the Miami community off the court,” said Heat President Pat Riley. “His name and jersey will hang forever and always.”

Bosh has spent time around the Heat since his playing days came to an end. The 34-year old was forced to leave the game at a young age, due to a battle with blood clots. While Bosh is currently retired, he is still considering a return to the NBA. Due to NBA rules, Bosh would not be eligible to play for Miami even if he does return to the court.

When Miami waived Bosh in 2017, Riley let it be known that a retirement ceremony was in the works. No Miami player has been issued Bosh's number one, since he last wore it for the team.

"The number '1' will never be worn by another player and we can't wait to someday hang his jersey in the rafters," Riley said at the time.

Bosh's teammate from the title teams, Dwyane Wade figures to be the next Miami player to see his jersey hang in the rafters. Wade is currently playing in his final NBA season and has been a member of three title teams with the Heat.

The Heat will take on the Orlando Magic in the March 26th contest, with a scheduled start time of 7:30 p.m.
