Here's How to Keep Your Pool Safe This Summer

Earlier this month, a man was pulled from a pool at a Miramar apartment complex and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The incident was reported as a near-drowning in June, one of the summer months when the number of pool-goers increases.

In 2015, 430 unintentional drowning deaths were recorded in Florida, according to the Florida Department of Health. Eighty-three of those cases were either in Broward or Miami-Dade Counties.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Red Cross and National Drowning Prevention Alliance offer tips for keeping home pools safe.
