Surveillance footage from a parking lot in Hialeah shows the moments before a driver reversed her van into a woman, pinning her against a metal gate.
Natasha Boothe, 21, appeared in court Friday and faces charges in the hit-and-run death of 42-year-old Norkys Contreras.
According to Hialeah police, Boothe got into a minor crash with Contreras Oct. 25 in the area of West 11th Avenue and 29th Street.
Contreras, with her family in the car, followed Boothe into a pawn shop parking lot. Police said Contreras got out of her vehicle, but Boothe is accused of reversing and pinning her into a metal gate.
Contreras was able to escape and walked in front of Boothe's van to prevent her from leaving, police said in an arrest report.
Boothe allegedly accelerated towards Contreras, who jumped and ended up clinging to the hood of the van.
Investigators said Boothe drove around for about eight blocks until Contreras fell off and was run over near West 35th Street and 12th Avenue.

Contreras was airlifted to the hospital, where she later died.
Boothe faces charges of first-degree murder and leaving the scene of a deadly crash. She remains in jail under no bond.
Contrera's daughter, Yaneysis Sosa, was there on the day of the crash.
"All we want is justice to be done so that my mom can rest in peace," she told NBC 6.
