Hialeah Mayor Fined for Providing False Information

The Miami-Dade Ethics Commission found the mayor of Hialeah guilty of knowingly providing false information.

On Wednesday, Mayor Carlos Hernandez was found guilty of two counts of providing false information about money he earned from private loans.

Hernandez was accused of lying to the public about receiving 36 percent interest payment on loans he gave to a Hialeah jeweler.

Hernandez is being forced to pay $4,000 in fines and legal fees.
