High Tide Sends Waves Onto A1A in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale is bracing for more high tides Wednesday, a day after water came over the seawall and onto A1A.

Waves were seen coming over the construction wall Tuesday in parts of Fort Lauderdale, as strong winds worked with the seasonal high tide to raise water levels and push sand into the street.

It was the first time water had come over the wall since construction began in July, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and other parts of Broward were expected to see more activity Wednesday, with high tide at 11:14 a.m.
