A South Florida man suspected of killing his own mother was formally charged with the murder Wednesday.
Jason Kertesz, 29, faces one count of first-degree murder for the death of Irene Kertesz, who was found dead in her Hollywood home July 30.
Jason Kertesz was being held in Miami-Dade jail on unrelated charges and will be transferred to Broward County jail to face a judge.
Irene Kertesz, 62, was found dead inside her home in the 2400 block of Northwest 57th Way, according to Hollywood Police. Her body was found by her husband, police said.
Police said Kertesz was seen on surveillance cameras using his mother's ATM card soon after she was killed. He also was driving his mother's car, police said.
Police have not released a motive in the murder.
