Hollywood Police Looking For Armed Sex Assault Suspect

After two weeks of investigation, Hollywood Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man they say sexually assaulted a 65-year-old woman at a local resort.

According to Hollywood Police, the suspect befriended the woman at the Hollywood Beach Resort on North Ocean Drive on May 15. At some point later in the day, the man sexually assaulted the 65-year-old woman at knife point.

Surveillance cameras at the Hollywood Beach Resort captured the suspect on video and police released the images Monday hoping the public can help identify the man.

Police said the man is approximately 5’9”, 180 pounds, muscular build with a tanned complexion and a tattoo on his left arm.

A bartender in the city said she may have seen the man.

"It could have been this bar because he was at the front desk, so this is probably the first stop at the bar on the way to the beach," said bartender Joan Flemming.

Hollywood resident Miriam Krasnopolski summed up the crime thusly, "Some people call here Hollyweird...it is funny right, but we never have this type of violence here."
