Home Depot Volunteers Refurbish a Veteran's Home

Thirty volunteers with the Home Depot Foundation on Friday refurbished the home of a marine who served Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The volunteers, who are also associates, started at 8 a.m. and were going until 5 p.m. They will update home’s interior and exterior, including installing flooring the kitchen, repairing the bathroom so that it's ADA compliant, and patching and painting the driveway.

This was part of the foundation's third annual Celebration of Service campaign, a two-month initiative between September 11 and Veterans Day.  During this period more than 9,000 associated will finish 350 projects to help make sure the veterans have safe homes.
