Hurricane Irma-Damaged Vizcaya Museum Reopens Monday

Miami's famed Vizcaya Museum and Gardens reopened Monday, weeks after it was left badly damaged by Hurricane Irma.

Vizcaya's main house and gardens will be open but the cafe and shop will remain temporarily closed, according to the museum's website.

"We look forward to welcoming our visitors back to enjoy this National Historic Landmark and cultural hub in its centennial year," Joel Hoffman, Vizcaya's executive director, said in a statement.

Staff and volunteers have been working to get Vizcaya reopened after it sustained heavy flooding from the hurricane last month. The waterfront property in Coconut Grove is a National Historic Landmark.
